Customizing Your Tablescape with Linens

We believe that when you welcome people to the dinner table, you are welcoming them into your family, and we’ve always been incredibly honored to be part of that moment. This is why our collection of table linens was designed with you in mind. Using only the finest Italian fabrics, which can be customized with a variety of finishes – a hand-guided hemstitch, embroidered scallop, satin stitch, applique or lace inset – our linens are intended to help bring your table to life. Whether you prefer a solid white Provenza tablecloth, or a Zebra jacquard, or a lace inset like our Doric collection, these pieces were meant to be enjoyed, on your own or with your guests.

As you design your next tablescape, let’s make the shopping process as painless as possible. Consider this your guide to designing your custom table linens.

Choosing Your Table Linen Collections

To enhance your every day dining room space, choose linens that complement the existing color story in your decor. You can select table linens that coordinate with the art, window treatments, rugs or decor items as a base. And remember, there are no rules against mixing colors or even collections to create a completely bespoke look.

Highlight Your Decor

Let your home decor elements shine by complimenting them with your table linens. Opting for a table runner instead of a table cloth allows your guests to admire your dining table’s wood details. Lace insets and borders in coordinating colors from the Linea collection allow you to elevate your linens to match the bar of excellence set by your fine china.

Colors Tell A Story

With 16 color options for embroidered edge details, Arlo table linens offer exciting opportunities to mix and match colors to add variety to your color palette.

Layering Adds Depth

Add depth to the tablescape by layering linens from different collections with unique finishes while remaining in a unified color palette. Here, Seychelles linen sateen in Dune is shown as placemats and then echoed again within the satin stitch inset feature on Alina napkins and tablecloth.

Buying the Right Sized Tablecloth

Consider the "Drop"

The “drop” of your tablecloth is the length the cloth drapes over the edge of your table and sets the tone for the style of meal you’re hosting. For more casual dining, where the drop is lap length, we recommend a drop of 6 - 10 inches. For formal dining, where the drop is near floor length, we recommend a drop of 20 - 30 inches.

Measure and Calculate

Round Tables
Measure the diameter of the table and add twice the desired drop.

Oblong Tables
Measure across the table through the center to determine the length and the width of the table then add twice the desired drop to each dimension.

Square Tables
Measure one side of the table's dimensions and add twice the desired drop.

Rectangular Tables
Measure the sides of the table to determine the length and width of the table then add twice the desired drop to each dimension.
